Joel Melnick

As owner and principal of Freeman Circuit Design, Joel has focused his whole career on analog and digital circuitry and hardware development. He previously worked on teams developing automated flight controls for Boeing, analog and digital instrumentation and flex circuitry for Simmons Precision, and medical laboratory devices with a photonics focus for BioTek.

As founder and CEO of the Nathaniel Group, Inc., he led the development of peristaltic pumps, motorized autoclavable surgical tools, light sources and camera systems — and he worked with a sports medicine company to drive its growth from $5 million to $1.5 billion in annual revenue. Serving next as general manager for Ushio America, Inc., Joel oversaw the successful introduction of new laser and LED driver systems, and contributed to the firm’s international development. He founded Freeman Circuit Design in 2018.
